Artifical Coral

As IMC, we carried out a project on artificial reefs to promote sustainability and protect ecosystems. We created a sustainable artificial reef model with materials such as egg shells, concrete mortar and Arabic soap to support marine ecosystems and enrich underwater life.

Our project aimed to create new habitats for fish communities by increasing biodiversity in the seas. The mortar created by mixing egg shells and concrete mortar was shaped by pouring it into moulds coated with Arabic soap. The artificial reefs supported marine life by providing hard surfaces for algae, mussels, corals and oysters. Over time, these reefs became a feeding ground for small fish and predator species, creating a plankton-rich environment.

Our reefs provided shelter for small fish such as sardines and helped pelagic predators such as tuna to contribute to the food chain. Over time, they became covered with algae, corals and sponges, creating a natural ecosystem.

As IMC, we have observed the positive effects of artificial reefs on the environment thanks to this project, which we developed with a sense of responsibility towards nature. We will continue to contribute to sustainable marine ecosystems with similar projects in the future.
